DIN 5699 shackles used to connect the end links of DIN 764 and DIN 766 chains with buckets have a breaking load greater than DIN 745 shackles. DIN 5699 are forged shackles with high bending strength. Each shackle is used together with four nuts and lock washers.
In shackle elevator systems, the load carried by the system affects the shackles equally as the chain. During the service life, worn bucket holes cause the shackle to stretch and consequently break. To prevent this, shackles must be used together with lock washers. Ordered shackles are shipped as a set with nuts and lock washers.
